The Fools & Kings Project is pleased to announce that we are now accepting submissions for our spring production, "Timon of Athens". David GR Brummer and Conor D Mullen, Directors; Melissa Meli and Vanessa Wendt, Producers.
Rehearsals will begin in April. Performances begin May 3rd and will be Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays through May 19th at Riverbank State Park and Summit Rock
In this production, a diverse ensemble cast will work together to present the story of Timon, a wealthy Athenian whose generosity and good-heartedness leads to his downfall.
Please note in your submission if you have any experience with Duo Interpretation (Forensics), Viewpoints, or Divising.
Seeking all ethnicities for the following roles:
*Timon – 20s – 30s, any gender. Timon is a wealthy Athenian who loves a good party. A generous, kind-hearted person, he is betrayed by his generosity, and he flees the city to become Misanthropos, who hates mankind
*Flavius – 20s – 30s, any gender. A loyal and steadfast steward who tries in vain to convince Timon he is surrounded by flatterers and false friends. When Timon feels to the woods, Flavius follows him, hoping to redeem his fallen master.
*Alcebiades – 20s – 30s, any gender. A fierce warrior and a strong leader who is willing to put everything on the line to protect the soldiers in his charge. He leads a revolution against a government he sees as unjust in the name of his fallen friend.
*Apemantus – 20s – 30s, any gender. A bitter cynic who is skeptical of Athenian society. He thinks Timon’s optimism and generosity is self-destructive but does care for Timon’s well-being.
*Poet – 20s – 30s, any gender. A flamboyant and lyrical poet who supplicates himself to the upper crust. A hanger-on to Timon’s bounty, and best friend and rival to the Painter.
*Painter – 20s – 30s, any gender. A prideful and arrogant artist who prefers to schmooze than to paint. A hanger-on to Timon’s bounty, and best friend and rival to the Poet
